A native nitrogen fixer with tons of potential in regenerative agriculture and holistic orchards!

A multistemmed, suckering shrub. This plant has high value as a chop n’ drop/ nitrogen fixing perennial for use in garden/orchard/tree crop systems. Michael Judd plants Amorpha in the same hole as his chestnut trees, providing nutrient support for the young saplings. Legume pods form in the fall and would be good forage for birds and other small wildlife. Huge potential for this plant to be used in silvopasture/regenerative agriculture systems!

Size: 4.5" deep

☀ Grows in full sun in dry to wet soils. 6-20’ high and 12-20’ wide.
✿ Flower time: June
