Host of the hermit sphinx moth, hummingbirds, and generally other species. Good in an orchard as the aromatics deter pests and attract beneficial and predatory insects!

Leaves, shoots, and flowers can be used raw or cooked, as a tea or potherb. Makes an aromatic antiseptic tea, stimulating and soothing to the digestive system. Nervine qualities particularly for someone with an upset stomach due to anxiety. Used as the flavoring for Early Grey tea.

Spreads by rhizomatic runners. 

☀ Grows in full-part sun in medium to moist soil. 2-4’ high and 2-6’ wide.
