A native groundcover with a taproot, palmate, compound leaves of 5, and yellow, 5 petaled flowers forming in spring. Looks and grows just like the non-native cousin, P. indica, or False Strawberry.
Grows in full- part shade. 3-6” high, rarely reaching 1’ tall. Spreads indefinitely. Can be aggressive under the right conditions. Likes open woods, old fields/meadows in average to dry soil.
